Operating efficiency
Efficient by engineering, not just by offsetting
Achieved through the latest power-saving technologies in servers and uninterruptible power supplies, plus cooling systems that use low global-warming-impact refrigerants. The power saved through this efficiency can be added back to the grid, allowing more renewable energy to be supplied and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
As low as 1.12 PUE
Power Usage Effectiveness measures how efficiently a data centre uses power. A ‘perfect’ ratio would be 1.0, and ours stand among the most efficient around, at as low as 1.12.
Industry average: 1.2 or higher
Other providers typically run at a PUE of 1.2 or more. A lower score is better, so every fraction of a point here represents real power saved.
Autoscaling technology
Our platform contributes to efficiency too

Scales down when quiet
If a website isn’t busy, it only uses the small amount of resource it actually needs, saving energy rather than sitting on idle, dedicated capacity.
Scales up instantly when busy
A sudden spike in traffic is met with more resource straight away, guaranteeing a fast website however busy it gets, without over-provisioning as standard.

What is PUE, and why does it matter?
Power Usage Effectiveness measures how efficiently a data centre uses the power it draws. A ‘perfect’ score is 1.0, ours run as low as 1.12, well below the 1.2 or higher typical elsewhere. Lower is better.
Does autoscaling actually save energy, or is that just a performance feature?
Both. Because resources scale down automatically when a site isn’t busy, the platform as a whole draws less power than it would if every site were provisioned for its peak load all the time.
Is this only for certain hosting plans?
No. Every plan we offer runs on the same renewable-powered infrastructure, there’s no separate “green” tier or upcharge for it.
Do you charge extra for this?
No. Wherever possible, we make it our policy not to upsell or charge for features we consider essential, and running on renewable energy is included as standard, not a paid add-on.
