Domains, VPS and cloud servers, and add-ons such as Website Turbo and Premium Email aren’t part of the offer, but you can add any of them at their standard prices.

The programme is for businesses that are at least 50% owned by one or more people from an under-represented group, including:
- People of colour and people from other under-represented ethnic backgrounds
- Women, trans and non-binary people
- Disabled people
- LGBTQ+ people
We also normally look for businesses that:
- Started trading in the last 3 years
- Have an annual turnover under £100,000
Don’t quite fit? Apply anyway. The trading time and turnover are guidelines, not hard rules. We review every application individually.
Limited companies, sole traders, the self-employed and partnerships can all apply.
How it works
Simple to apply, reviewed by a real person
We aim to reply to every application within 10 working days.

2. We review it
For limited companies we check Companies House. Sole traders and partnerships send us one piece of evidence that they’re trading.
3. Get your code
If you’re approved, we email you a single-use code, valid for 30 days.
4. Order your hosting
Use the code at checkout and your plan is £1 a month for the first 12 months.
We never ask which group you belong to, and we never ask for proof of ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability. You tell us your business qualifies, and we trust you. Any evidence of trading you send is deleted once we’ve made a decision.

Is your normal hosting open to everyone?
Yes. Every plan we sell is open to everyone, on the same terms and with the same support. This programme is extra help for founders who face extra barriers, on top of that.
Why do you run this programme?
People from some groups are under-represented among UK business owners and often face extra barriers to getting started, including access to finance and support. This is our small way of helping. It’s a time-limited offer with a set number of places, run under the positive action provisions of the Equality Act 2010.
Why don’t you ask which group I belong to?
We don’t need to know, and it’s nobody’s business but yours. Asking would mean collecting and storing some of the most sensitive personal information there is, so we simply ask you to confirm your business qualifies.
How many places are there?
Up to 25 each calendar year. We review every application individually rather than going first come, first served. If all places for the year are taken, we can keep your application on file for the next available place.
I’m a sole trader. Can I apply?
Yes. Sole traders, the self-employed and partnerships are all welcome. As there’s no public register to check, we’ll email you to ask for one piece of evidence that you’re trading, such as your HMRC Self Assessment registration letter. You can cover up tax references, account numbers and balances.
Can I pay annually instead?
Yes. Choose annual billing and your first year is £12 plus VAT, the same as £1 a month. The offer covers monthly and annual billing, not 2-year billing.
What happens after 12 months?
Your plan continues at its standard price for your billing cycle. We’ll email you at least 14 days before your first full-price invoice, so there are no surprises, and you can cancel any time.
Can I add a domain, Website Turbo or other extras?
Yes, at their standard prices. The £1 offer covers your hosting plan only, not domains, VPS or cloud servers, or add-ons such as Website Turbo.
Is this a general startup discount?
No. This programme is specifically for businesses owned by under-represented founders, and it can’t be combined with any other offer or code.
